Huehuetenango (way-way-ten-nang-oh) is in the northeast highlands of Guatemala. With the natural shade from the highland jungles, this area provides the perfect growing environment for some of the most fragrant and aromatic coffees in the world. This is a bright, full-bodied rich coffee that is fruity with flavors cherry, lemon, cinnamon and chocolate. These beans have been washed with water. The objective of washing is to eliminate the chances of off-tastes from overripe or fermented coffee cherries which would destruct the flavor of the bean. The goal is a cleaner cup. Roasted in small batches to a robust medium roast.

This coffee was grown and produced by the CODECH Coop (Coordinadora de Organizaciones de Desarrollo de Concepción Huista). One of the main objectives of CODECH is to encourage the participation of women in the Guatemalan workforce and economy, which can be difficult due to local culture and politics. We do single origin coffee right. You may be used to choosing a flavored coffee in the grocery store, but when you choose to drink our small-batch roasted coffee you will experience the distinctive taste of where your coffee was grown. Like a fine wine, the taste of each coffee is affected by the climate and altitude of where it was grown. We take a light handed, small batch approach to roasting, striving to bring out the distinctive taste of the origin. You can trust that our artisan roasters know exactly how to roast each type of bean to bring out the best of each location. All of our coffee is roasted to order and shipped fresh daily. We package in air-tight, foil-lined bags with one-way degassing valves to preserve freshness.
